Service Areas & Maps
But the map said...
I'm sorry, those maps aren't all that accurate folks.
Kind of like a kindergartner who uses one color to fill in the entire picture, you know!? Check the maps yeah, just remember that they're not really all that accurate. If your house is down in a valley and the tower is several miles away on the other side of a ridge, you're not going to get service at home.
The best way to find the best provider for your area is to figure out where and when you are most likely to use your phone. Then talk to people, neighbors and friends BEFORE you go talk to a provider or agent.
If you get the same kind of information from both groups you should be able to figure out what's best for you. Just remember, if you don't get cell service at home, you don't want to give up your landline!
I don't think giving up your landline is ever a good idea unless you're in a metro and you have to cut cost. If you should have an emergency, god forbid, you have no landline and forgot to charge your cell, what then.
